Well, hopefully jdevenberg can let us know if anything is still unclear or not working right and we can get more suggestions from people who are more familiar with this (feel free to ignore my email if it's not hepful, but the other members posting here are very knowledgable about this, so I would ask them anything that doesn't make sense). Hopefully the cloning goes okay for the 256GB SSD which would then allow the 1TB hard drive to be used as a 'data' second hard drive with the 256GB SSD used as the boot drive.Īlso, if the cloning is successful with the SSD, I would probaby try a reset or refresh of Win8 to make sure this works if it matters and there were no problems with the reimaging? Not sure what will be the best way, but assume another 'data' partition can be created on the 1TB hard drive and not included in the clone image used for the 256GB SSD? In case this wasn't obvious just wanted to mention if the data on the 1 TB hard drive is larger than the 256GB SSD, jdevenberg will want to find a way to reduce the image size from the 1TB hard drive. Then choose Uninstall to remove it from your computer. Select Macrium Reflect and right-click it. Then choose Uninstall a program under the Programs section to continue. It's free and has worked for many here in this forum. If you do not need Macrium Reflect, you can choose to uninstall it completely. Actually you should be cloning the complete hard drive to the new SSD!, all partitions will recreate and resize themselves with the cloning software. and recover the backup image into the SSD.
